This watch belonged to a watchmaker and spent over two decades in his watch safe. As clearly evidenced by the photos, the watch remains in outstanding condition with the original Jubilee GMT bracelet with 550 end links and 50 stamped last links with an "I" clasp code and very minimal stretch.
The bezel insert is the original Rolex blue-back insert.
Correct and original "open" date wheel.
The case is in excellent condition with no corrosion with full lugs and original chamfers still visible. ((I believe the watch was probably minimally polished once in the past.)
There is no corrosion or dial cracks on the original tritium dial which is typically found on these early gloss dials. The original tritium hands are also in excellent condition and free from significant scratches or corrosion.
The model number and serial number are clearly visible between the lugs with minimal end link marks on the lettering/numbers.
The bezel turns very smooth and the genuine Rolex 116 crystal is in excellent condition and free from cracks or nicks.
The watch winds very smooth and is currently running + 5 seconds.
The service history is unknown. The watch was fully inspected and pressure tested by my watch maker who found no issues with the movement. The watch movement comes with a warranty until 12/31/19.
This is an outstanding original example of the first generation glossy GMT 16750s which any collector would enjoy adding to their collection.
