How much work to have done on Tudor Submariner?

Post by Recondo101 »

I'm new to the forum and know little about vintages watches. I have a Tudor Submariner model 94110 (C. 1982) that no longer works. The dial, hands and bezel are no longer luminous, and I need to replace the bracelet. The exterior is in good shape with only minor scratches and minor light scratches on the crystal. I'm a diver and it was my main dive watch for many years. In doing a little research it looks like these watches may have some collectors value. I was thinking about sending it to Rolex to have it overhauled but I was wondering how much work I should have done. I understand that Rolex will "make it look like new" but I don't know if that is a good idea. On some forums they say "do not" replace parts. Keep everything original so as not to diminish the collectors value. I'm totally lost as to what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. This will be my daily wear watch. Thanks Much.
