GMT Serif Bezel Inserts

I was recently contacted regarding a request for my opinion concerning the bezel inserts for the GMT sapphire models which contain serifs on the numerals. These serif inserts can be found on the mid-1990s GMT II 16710s to a little after 2000.

In my opinion, for an insert to be considered a serif bezel insert, the serifs need to be significant in size and found on most of the numerals within the insert but not all of them. Serifs are most commonly visible and found on the 1s, 2s and 4s as evidenced in the photos below.

The first photo below which is a "Pepsi" insert depicts a genuine Rolex insert while the second insert which is black depicts an aftermarket insert which is like inserts being sold on ebay by a seller in the UK who describes them as aftermarket.
